DESK RENTAL
Are there any additional bills to pay on top of the space fee?
No, everything is included in the fee!
Can I pay at the studio?
You can pay by card at the studio at the start of your booking in advance subject to availability.
Can I pay cash?
Unfortunately we do not accept cash payments.
Is there 24/7 access?
At present we offer access from 10am until 6pm weekdays, 11am -4pm Saturdays and we are closed on Sundays. If you would like to have access to the studio outside of these hours please get in touch at hello@bleurstudios.com
Is there storage space or lockers?
We have a limited number of lockers. You can hire the lockers with a key for £50 per month. If you have rented a desk and want to leave your artworks to dry overnight, you can. Although any items left on the premises unattended is at your own risk.
Are my belongings and artworks insured if I leave them at the studio?
All items including artworks are left at your own risk. We strongly advise you to take out appropriate insurance for your artworks and belongings.
Are the desks in a self-contained space?
We have 2 private studios and the desks are in the shared Bleur Studios space. If you would like to book a visit email us at hello@bleurstudios.com
Is there a sink to clean brushes in the studio?
Yes we have a sink and toilet point just in the basement. We do ask you that you leave it clean for other users.
Is there a WIFI?
Yes, we have high speed wifi.
PRIVATE HIRE
Is there any equipment provided or that can be rented?
Depending on your needs we can provide workshop boards and other items can be rented. We do not provide equipment for shoots.
Can I facilitate a workshop in the studio?
Absolutely, we encourage artists to make a living from their practice, our Studios can be rented out for workshops.
How many people can have for my workshop?
It depends what your needs are. If you are looking to have a workshop, you can fit around 20-30 people depending on how much space each participant will need.
Is the studio space suitable for filming or rehearsals?
Yes absolutely. Email us with your specific needs.
Am I insured in the space?
No you are not insured and your belongings are not insured neither. You should take out an insurance policy to cover you during your private hire depending on your needs. We also strongly advise you to take out appropriate insurance policy from third party insurance providers such as Public and Product Liability insurance (PPL) and Professional Indemnity insurance (PI) to cover for any claims of third party injury.
RESIDENCIES
Will I have 24/7 access to the residency space?
Opening hours of the residency space depends on our partner’s opening hours. Where we can we will ensure that selected artists can have access to the space every day of the residency. We always state the hours of opening for each residency.
Are art materials provided?
We provide basic amenities including a table, chair and water point. We do not provide materials or specific support surfaces like easels. Selected artists should bring everything they need to create.
Is there natural light/windows in the studios?
The characteristics of the space depends on our partnerships. We always endeavour to provide accurate photos of the space so you can assess whether it is suitable for your practice.
What is the admin fee for?
We charge an admin fee at application which contributes towards the costs of securing and running the residencies. If applicable this will be stated on the Residencies page.
Are there any additional costs (heating, wifi)?
There is no additional costs to take part in the residencies. We do not provide materials and travel and subsistence expenses are at the cost of the selected artists.
Are there any lockers/storage space? Is it safe to leave my works there overnight?
Our partners will lock the premises outside of opening hours. While you will be able to store your items and artworks in your studio space overnight, we cannot ensure the safety of your items and you are leaving them at your own risk. We strongly advise you to take out appropriate insurance as per our T&Cs.
Are my belongings insured?
No your belongings are not insured. You should take out an artist insurance policy to cover artworks when in the space. We also strongly advise you to take out appropriate insurance policy from third party insurance providers such as Public and Product Liability insurance (PPL) and Professional Indemnity insurance (PI) to cover for any claims of third party injury during the course of your visual arts practice and claims of negligent breach of professional duty when in the space. This includes, but not limited to, during any Bleur Studios’ events and Bleur Residencies.
Is there a sink or cleaning facilities for paintbrushes etc?
We always endeavour to provide access to a sink however this is dependent on our partners' facilities.
